September 30-October 1, 2021 11:30am-4:30pm ET / 8:30am-1:30pm PT via Zoom

The Insight Summit is an annual event to gather the Insight community through enlivening presentations, conversations and practice. The Summit connects international practitioners, educators and scholars through thoughtfully designed sessions devoted to themes and topics of interest to the Insight community.

This year, learn about the diverse facets of the Insight approach through the stories, successes and setbacks of seasoned practitioners in peacebuilding, mediation, collaborative law, organizational leadership, artistry and more.

Explore Insight strategies and skills through workshops that are inclusive of people with various comfort and familiarity with Insight, from complete novices to advanced specialists. All are welcome.

Connect with other participants through optional informal café-style breakout rooms or an Indigenous circle process.

Grow your network, nurture your curiosity and take part in a growing community of individuals engaged in acts of change-making through Insight.

Listen, reflect, engage.. repeat!

2020 Summit on the Insight approach to Conflict

After a successful inaugural Insight Summit in 2019, “Insight Summit 2020” was planned to be held at Royal Roads University in beautiful Victoria, B.C., July 9-10. Due to the global pandemic the Summit went virtual, offering the opportunity for more participants from across the globe to join in! The Insight Summit of 2020 brought together conflict practitioners and researchers, professionals, educators, artists, and students from various disciplines interested in learning how to respond to difficult and deep-rooted interpersonal, intergroup and multiparty conflict. Summit organizers created an interactive and collaborative space for curiosity, combined theory and skills, went deeper in their practice, and opened possibilities for cross-pollination. The Summit welcomed participants from all backgrounds and experiences with interest in this approach, and supported the continued to growth of an Insight community of practice to heal conflict and make lasting change. What emerged from our time together was extraordinary.

2019 SUMMIT ON THE INSIGHT APPROACH TO CONFLICT

As members of the Summit planning group, our hopes were to learn, exchange ideas, network, build and sustain the Insight community, and enjoy each other’s vibrant company. This Summit was conceived a year earier, in PEI, Canada, when ICI founders met to create a vision for the future of Insight. They were optimistic that great things would happen if they brought together conflict practitioners and researchers, police officers, lawyers, social and health care professionals, educators, artists, and students already knowledgeable about the Insight approach. They were not disappointed.
