Vision
ICI aspires to be a home for people who seek to lead, create and strengthen targeted, effective ways of enhancing wellbeing, dignity, and reciprocity in the roles, systems, and relationships they feel called to address.
Mission
Through education, research and collaboration, the mission of ICI is to foster a community of excellence centered in the development and practice of the Insight Method in prosocial change.
Purpose
ICI is a community of social practitioners and theorists. We are linked by our shared commitment to developing and using Insight models to think through the social problems and conflicts we feel personally and professionally drawn to address. In this regard, the mutual learning of the Insight community has been cumulative and progressive, with no end in sight.
Over the past 20 years, Insight practitioners have developed Insight models in a variety of ways and employed them in a number of fields. This achievement includes institutionally established efforts in Insight mediation, Insight artistry, Insight policing, conflict communication, collaborative law, and public service leadership.
A range of pioneering efforts in other fields are currently underway, including juvenile justice, neuroarts, ecclesiastical governance, political reconciliation, and interfaith dialog.
Insight Method is a science of human flourishing.
It provides theorists and practitioners with an empirically grounded approach to diagnosing and discovering ways to change damaging patterns of relating and move toward more flourishing ones.
Insight Method is based on Bernard Lonergan’s work
and offers a framework for paying explicit attention to the interiority of decision making - to how we use our minds as we decide to act and to the relational, systemic and cultural influences that both shape it and are shaped by it.

ICI FOUNDATIONS SERIES
The mission of ICI is to advance the use of Insight Method.
ICI draws upon the phenomenology of consciousness and methodological insights developed by Bernard Lonergan in pursuing this work.
Central to this work is ICI’s Foundation Series, which teaches participants to critically grasp and effectively use Insight Method in their pursuit of human flourishing.
The courses in the ICI Foundations Series are concretely focused and goal oriented. The focus is set by the concern for flourishing that the participant brings to the course, and the goal of the Foundations Series is to prepare the participant to creatively pursue the goal for human flourishing they bring to the course.
After completing the Foundations Series, participants will have a working knowledge of the key terms, relations, practices, and procedures of Insight Method as applied to their own personal and public roles, and to their concrete aspirations for advancing human flourishing.
